Tour Description
We will know this National Park that was created in 1959 and declared a World Biosphere Reserve by Unesco in 1978. It is located between the Andes mountain range and the Patagonian steppe, with altitudes that vary between 20 m and 3050 m.
The transfer is carried out in two types of transport, the first part Punta Arenas – Puerto Natales is made by an Inter-urban Bus (Shared service, cap. 47 passengers), the second part Puerto Natales-Torres del Paine is made by a mini-bus type VAN (cap. 15-18-21 passengers). The return to Punta Arenas will be made again in the Inter-urban Bus.
We start at 06:00 a.m. by picking all our passengers up at their accommodations. Then we will head directly to the town of Puerto Natales (247 km approx.) where we will arrive about 10:00 am. The mini buses and the guide will be waiting for us. We will continue the trip and after 30 minutes we wii make a stop to visit the natural monument CUEVA DEL MILODON. We will visit the museum and take a guided walk through the interior of the cave. (duration 1 hour approx.). Then we will follow to Cerro Castillo, a beautiful and small commune, where you can make your last purchases before entering the national park. On the way we will have the first stop at Lago Sarmiento Viewpoint, next will be the Laguna Amarga Viewpoint. Between 1:30 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. we will arrive at the entrance to Torres del Paine National Park.
We will continue the trip stopping by some other viewpoints such as the NORDENSKJÖLD Viewpoint above the lake where you can see the landscape of burned trees and Paine Horns in the background. We will do a short trekking (20 minutes) to the impressive Salto Grande Waterfall that joins the Nordenskjöld and Pehoé lakes. Next we will find Lake Pehoé, which for photography lovers, will be probably the most spectacular view of the whole tour. We will continue traveling until we reach Gray Lake. We will have a 20-minute walk through a suspension bridge and a nice path will lead us to admire the ice floes that emerge from the Gray Glacier reaching the shores of the lake.
We will set off back to Punta Arenas around 7:00 p.m. and arrive at the city between 11:00 p.m. and 11:30 p.m. It is worth mentioning that there may be additional stops requested by you or by the guide, in order to observe and / or photograph local flora and fauna such as: condors, pumas, foxes, guanacos and ñandúes., etc.
