Whale watching in Francisco Coloane Marine Park, feeding place for humpback whales. You can also see a breeding colony of Magellanic penguins

The day begins at 04:00 am by gathering in our meeting point, to depart for Punta Carrera at 50kms to the south of Punta Arenas, place where you will embark to begin the navigation through the ‘Estrecho de Magallanes’ (Strait of Magellan) at 05:30 am. A few miles away you will pass in front of ‘Puerto del Hambre’ (Port Famine) and ‘Fuerte Bulnes’ (Fort Bulnes) both Historical National Monuments, then by ‘Fato San Isidro’ (San Isidro Lighthouse) last lighthouse of the American continent, which also has the same categorization. The navigation continues to the south up to Cabo Froward, where is ‘La Cruz de Los Mares’ (The Cross of the Seas) and where you will have the opportunity of descending of the boat, in the last border of the American continent. After this stop, the trip continues to Cabo Holland and the first maritime area protected of Chile, the Marine Park Francisco Coloane, there exists a great biological diversity of aquatic vertebrates as sea lions, petrels, cormorants, austral dolphins, among other species. This area is the only humpback whale feeding site (Megaptera novaeangliae) localized outside Antarctic waters, where each summer arrives whales along with their calves. Also in this same park is locates a reproductive colony of Magellan penguins (Spheniscus magellanicus) being the Rupert island the favorite place of this fowls. After this, you will go through the English passage and Shag passage, where along with the maritime diversity there is also a pristine landscape surrounded by mountains and dense template sub-Antarctic forests. Finally, you shall enter the ‘Seno Helado’ where you can be at the front of the ‘Glaciar Helado’ to finish the journey returning to Punta Carrera around 14:15 hrs and arriving at Punta Arenas at 18:00 hrs. This tour lasts approximately 10 hours and is subject to weather conditions; also includes transfer to ‘Bahía Carrera’ embark zone, English and Spanish guide, breakfast, lunch, snack, coffee service, pisco or whiskey with millennial ice.
